1983 Lancia LC-2 Group C

Built by Lancia with support from sister company - Ferrari, Chassis #002 was
built in 1983 and was raced as the Lancia/Martini “works” car
from 1983 to 1986. One of only five chassis built during this period, this
car was the workhorse of the team and competed in more races than any of the
other cars.
1n 1983 this car competed in 9 world championship events winning the Imola 1000 K and taking podium finishes at Kyalami and Mugello. This car qualified on the pole for the 1984 LeMans 24-hour race finishing 8th and quilified 3rd for the 1985 LeMans, lead more than half the distance, finishing 6th. It was clocked at 246 mph on the Mulsanne Straight.
Chassis #002 was purchased directly from Lancia-Fiat Auto S.P.A. in 1988 and has undergone a 100 pt. ground-up restoration at the Canepa Design facilities in Scotts Valley, California. This very original car was dissembled including every nut and bolt and concourse restored including race ready condition. Total restoration cost was over $350,000.00 including 4000 hours of labor, parts and subcontract work.
