This Bike is brand new with only 140 Miles of
use!
A true collectors bike, one of 900 produced by the Harley-Davidson
and one of only 64 that were delivered in Blue. They only made this
bike for two years and its one of the best bikes Harley-Davidson ever
made! It handles like a dream carving turns on mountain roads or slicing
your way through city traffic. These FXRs put more horsepower to the
rear wheel than any other production Harley. The FXR combines chopper
looks with the excellent handling of a road bike. The combination
of the rubber-mounted engine, twin coil over rear shock suspension,
unique FXR frame design gives this bike a look like no other.
This bike was purchased by a major automobile collector
and kept in his private museum for the last nine years. Shown along
side some of the worlds most prestigious collector cars and motorcycles
this FXR was treated to the best of care and always kept in show winning
condition. Over the years it was only ridden 140 miles and is in NEW
condition. It is just as it was delivered from the Harley-Davidson
factory, never ridden hard or modified in any way.
You will never find a more perfect Showroom
condition FXR in the world.
About the FXR
F = Big Twin
X = XL (Sportster Front End) Front End
R= Rubber Engine Mounts.
The FXR was produced in various models from 1982-1994
and again from 1999-2000. In creating the FXR Harley-Davidson wanted
a “no apologies” Harley, one that would work as well as
it looked and handle like no Harley ever had. One that didn’t
try to shake itself and its rider apart and would offer the rider
total comfort regardless of size. One that would be lighter and yet
nimble enough in maneuvering such distances as from Milwaukee to Los
Angeles as it would be from stoplight to stoplight. One that feared
no curve! The FXR chassis was essentially an FLT Tour Glide chassis
with lighter frame tubes and a mor conventional design around the
steering head. As such, it offered a rubber-mounted engine and a five-speed
transmission.
Unlike the average assembly line built bikes, each FXR
was entirely hand built by two man teams working through six stations
on the line until the bike was fully finished.
