This show winning ’40 Ford has just the right blend of period Hot Rod looks and modern performance and comfort. Powered by a 330 HP Chevy 350 V8 mated to a 350 Turbo this ’40 goes every bit as good as it looks. Over 2000 hours were invested in building this car, the attention to detail and fit and finish are second to none.
The all steel original body, fenders and frame were fully restored. Panel fit and door gaps were painstakingly perfected. Many hours were spent block sanding the panels laser flat perfection before the show quality PPG two stage black paint was applied. Mustang II front suspension was installed along with the Mustang power rack and pinion steering and power front disc brakes. The rear suspension features a Ford 9” rear end on Street Rod Engineering parallel springs. Bilstein shocks control the ride at all four corners. The front suspension has been dropped two inches. The 6X15 front and 7X15 rear wheels have been beautifully pin striped and fitted with Toyo Spectrum 205-70 R-15 and 235-75R-15 tires
The interior features premium leather upholstery by Sam Wright. The stock ’40 dash has been upgraded with VDO vintage style gauges and custom switches. An Ididit tilt steering column was installed along with a Vintique ‘40 Ford 15" steering wheel. You ride in air-conditioned comfort supplied by a modern Vintage Air AC system while listening to great tunes on the hidden Sony Drive-S AM/FM with remote CD and MP3 link. The original seat back lifts for easy access to the storage area behind the seat.
The car was completed in March of 2006 and was a double award winner at the World of Wheels show in Kansas City.
