This Cobra is a fantastic example that was originally sold by the world famous Tasca Ford to Lou Nielson of Illinois. By the mid 1980’s still remaining completely stock and original, the Cobra was sold to the well known Cobra authority Bill Kemper and subsequently Larry Grennberg of Great Neck, NY. Greenberg had Kemper perform a “ground-up” restoration for him on the very original “no stories” big block Cobra.

This beautiful Cobra is powered by a extremely powerful 427 side oiler engine and remains completely correct to stock specifications. Tasca Ford sold the car new in 1967 with this engine in place. Unlike many other 427’s this car remains in “as it was delivered” configuration without the addition of such items as hood scoop and side exhausts.
This is a pristine example with only 23,171 miles of use.

History
In 1965 Shelby decided to upgrade the original 289 Cobra by adding the big Ford 427 engine. A completely new car and chassis were designed in cooperation with Ford in Detroit. A whole new chassis was built which featured 4” main chassis tubes (instead of 3”) and coil spring suspension all around. The new car also had wide fenders and a larger radiator opening. It was powered by the famed “side oiler” Ford 427 engine (7.0 L) developing 425 hp and attaining a top speed of 163 mph in the street model.
