1933 Ford Hot Rod —SOLD

Chassis
This car features a complete custom chassis consisting of new boxed steel side rails that match the lower bodyline and are rolled on the lower edge to create the look of a full bellypan. The 114-inch wheelbase has been stretched 2 inches over stock. The front axle is a Magnum 4-inch drop I-beam fitted with Chassis Engineering spindles. Front disc brakes are hidden behind ’40 Ford backing plates to match original units on the rear. The ’36 Ford rear-end has been fitted with a Halibrand “Quick Change” center section and upgraded with a Chrysler limited slip unit.

Engine and Trans
Power comes from a traditional Ford flat head with Offenhauser heads and intake manifold topped by three Stromberg 97 carbs. A pair of Fenton cast-iron headers feeds into a 4-pipe custom exhaust system. The engine is mated to a Ford top loader transmission that has been converted to appear as an early Ford trans shifter.

Wheels and Tires
The Stock Ford 16-inch steel wheels have been modified to accept ’33 Ford hubcaps.

Body and Paint
The original all steel ’33 Ford roadster body has been shortened 3-inches behind the doors and extended 3.5 inches below the rear deck lid. A custom one off windshield was designed for the car. Headlamps are a pair of Dietz units fitted with a pair of customized aftermarket motorcycle turn signals mounted in custom housings.

Interior
The interior is reminiscent of early Sprint cars containing only what is absolutely necessary. Black “tuck and roll” upholstery with red carpets help keep an authentic early Ford feel. A’32 Ford dash was fitted with period looking gauges from Classic Instruments.
